An interview with Jorge Molero, leader of the Living Lab Spain

 

During the Cross Living Labs event in the Netherlands, Jorge Molero, from FundaciĆ³n EntreTantos and the Living Lab Spain manager, shared his experiences working within the local food system, emphasising the importance of regional approaches to food production. Molero highlighted that focusing on local food systems benefits farmers, promotes healthier food, and strengthens communities. He believes that regional food systems can meet the food needs of an entire area, stressing the importance of caring for the people living within these regions.

Molero also discussed the interconnectedness of food with the environment, health, and society, pointing out that the challenges and initiatives seen in local food systems are common across Europe. He emphasised the need for collaboration between different regions and cities to address these shared issues and to advance sustainable food practices on a broader scale.
