Call to Participate in the Next Edition of Social Hackathon Umbria (SHU)

Join the Social Hackathon Umbria (SHU) next edition that will take place from 3 to 6 July 2025 in Spello, a charming village nestled in the verdant heart of Italy.

#SHU2025 will feature a four-day programme of Hackathon sessions, Workshops, Exhibitions, and Laboratories, set against the stunning backdrop of Spello—renowned as the “flowered” village and a quintessential example of the Umbrian way of life. Over 300 participants from across the globe will come together to share perspectives on three key diversity-related themes: biological, neurological, and social.

In the coming weeks, we will select the most promising ideas to be developed by teams of up to eight members, each guided by an experienced team leader. During the 48-hour hackathon, these teams will work towards creating a pitch, prototype, or product, which they will present before a panel of expert judges.

There are three ways to take part in the event:

• Become a Social Hackers – propose a project addressing diversity-related challenges and join one of the teams engaged in implementing digital co-creation solutions for diversity and sustainable development! Click here for apply!
• Join the SHU Young Makers Event – Be part of the first STEAM competition inspired by the New European Bauhaus! Participate with your school or youth organisation and contribute to building a sustainable and inclusive future. Apply today!
• Become a D-VILLAGE partner – Take part in SHU’s main side event, which offers a diverse programme of free public workshops and performances focusing on NEURO and SOCIO diversity. There will also be an exhibition area dedicated to celebrating BIO diversity.
