ERIAFF 2026 – Amsterdam | 11–13 May

In the following days, there will be the 12th edition of the ERIAFF Conference 2026, taking place in Amsterdam from 11 to 13 May 2026. This year’s theme explores Regional Agri-Food & Forestry Systems: Balancing Economic, Ecological, Environmental and Social Innovations.

The full programme promises inspiring speakers and and exciting field visits, but from EU4Advice, we want to highlight a particularly powerful moment on 12 May, when two remarkable voices will take the floor.

Oleksandra Avramenko will share how Ukraine’s food systems functioned when war broke out, and how local food supply chains proved their resilience in the face of crisis. Mark Frederiks will reflect on the collaboration between short food supply chains, Makro, and farmer collectives that kept communities in the Netherlands fed during the pandemic, stepping in precisely when traditional systems fell short.
