Supporting Local Food Systems and Innovation in the BIOEAST Countries

This event focused on innovative approaches to strengthening local food systems in the BIOEAST region, with the aim of enhancing regional food security, sustainability, and resilience. Held as a side event of the Partnering for the Future Conference, it brought together policymakers, researchers, farmers, and agri-food sector stakeholders to discuss collaborative solutions and develop actionable policy recommendations.
The program began with a morning conference that set the stage for an afternoon policy workshop, which was divided into two sessions:
- EU4Advice (represented by Patricia Mora) and CoreNet (represented by Fedele Colantuono)– Addressing local food systems.
- CleverFood – Exploring innovation in food systems.
Participants contributed existing policy solutions from their countries and shared insights during their chosen workshops. The event successfully fostered dialogue and collaboration to shape the future of food systems in the BIOEAST region.
